Together with my dear husband Ben, we started shaping our dream in 2016. Setting up a centre where people grow in awareness, search for meaning and develop spirituality. We have already started offering training courses and personal coaching programmes.<\/p>\n
This article provides more information about two forms of grief counselling offered at our centre: individual counselling and counselling in small groups of at least five participants. A customised programme for part of the family is also possible.<\/p>\n
Healthcare provider<\/p>\n
I have spent my entire working life in healthcare as a nurse. I started out in psychiatry and later worked in other disciplines. After a period of being a stay-at-home mum (which I found to be a wonderful time), I returned to healthcare. In 2003, we learned that my mother-in-law and my friend had cancer. That was a very intense but also beautiful period. I was able to experience how comprehensive palliative terminal care can be. It awakened in me an intense desire to provide this kind of care myself. Better proof that \u201cthere are no coincidences\u201d came immediately: I applied for a job and was immediately hired at a high-care hospice in Eindhoven, where I had a wonderful time. I am currently working as a self-employed nurse in 24-hour terminal care.<\/p>\n
Spirituality<\/p>\n
My interest in the spiritual world began during adolescence. My concrete introduction to this subject came through an encounter with a psychic who guided me in this area, enabling me to now use my skills as a medium when desired. I regularly provide readings for groups, but also one-on-one at our practice in Veghel.<\/p>\n
NLP and systemic work<\/p>\n
My interest in NLP was sparked when Ben took his training courses at Vidarte in Den Bosch. He underwent such wonderful personal development; I wanted that too! No sooner said than done, and in 2013 I completed my master's degree there. Since then, I have done a number of mentoring programmes and completed my training in family constellations, and this year I am again participating in a number of training courses.<\/p>\n
With this systemic perspective, my coaching skills, my sixth sense and a background as a nurse, I have a well-stocked toolkit to help people get back on track when necessary.<\/p>\n
Grieving process<\/p>\n
In terminal care, I regularly notice that after the death of a loved one, there is still unfinished business. It is simply the way things are arranged that once the terminally ill person has passed away, the care provided as such also stops. It is precisely at this stage that the bereaved naturally find it very difficult. And despite well-intentioned advice, it is not easy to pick up the pieces. They say that time heals all wounds, and to some extent that is true.\u00a0 But often there are still so many questions and feelings that a bereaved person becomes silent and no longer has the energy or strength to pick up their own life again and move on.<\/p>\n
Professional guidance can support this process and accelerate it where necessary or desired. This enables the bereaved to move forward again and, after processing their significant loss, resume their lives and continue on their own journey.<\/p>\n
The coaching programme starts individually or in a group setting.<\/p>\n
Working as a coach on this theme is mainly based on the work of Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, a Swiss-American psychiatrist famous for her pioneering work on end-of-life care and her discovery of the five stages of grief:<\/p>\n
Everyone goes through these five phases at their own pace and sometimes in their own order. Together, we will go through all these phases in five sessions to see if anything else is needed. As a nurse, NLP practitioner with a systemic perspective and my mediumship, I have learned to look at the people I meet in a holistic way. I want everyone to meet the best version of themselves and I am happy to accompany you on this journey. Not to determine your course, but to get you on your course and keep you there.<\/p>\n
