Neuro Emotional Integration, what does that actually mean?
NEI stands for Neuro Emotional Integration and is a highly effective way of identifying the cause of problems and then solving them without using our “thinking”. NEI was developed in the early 1980s by the American Scott Walker. NEI became known in the Netherlands through the physician Roy Martina. NEI uses various elements from Eastern and Western healing methods and is based on principles from neuroscience, psychotherapy, acupuncture and, of course, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), among others.

How does NEI work in practice?
To minimise the influence of thinking on the process, a biotensor is used. This is a handle with a thin steel wire attached to it that can move up and down or from left to right or rotate. The therapist (Wilma in this case) holds it and you also have a sensor in your hands. Both are connected to each other by a wire.
I will then use a number of questionnaires (protocols) to identify the cause of your problem. The biotensor provides the answer and, just like a “lie detector”, you cannot (consciously) influence the process with your thoughts, making it a very accurate instrument.
When should you use an NEI session?
Because thinking does not play a role, NEI treatment is particularly effective if you do not know the cause of a problem or have already tried all other methods. In addition, NEI can be used in a wide range of situations, such as:
- Emotional difficulties
- Chronic conditions (especially those that are unexplained)
- Physical complaints
- Addictions
- Pregnancy / desire to have children
- Trauma
- Fears
- and much more
As you can see, there are many possibilities. There are NEI therapists who use NEI to address all kinds of issues. We work from a broader perspective, as you can see on our website. We see it as having a large bag of tools, from which we select the right tool for each client. The only way to find out whether this form of treatment is right for you is to book a session. So just make that appointment and be surprised by what lies locked in your subconscious and how the biotensor can help you.
