How do we work with relationship coaching?
Many couples experience challenges sooner or later: infidelity, growing apart, stress, illness, or whatever else life throws at us. It's not pleasant, but it also offers enriching opportunities. At Holistic Centre Brabant, we believe that partner relationships offer an exceptional opportunity to learn a lot about ourselves.

The methodology
For relationship therapy, we use a combination of IBCT (Integrative Behavioural Couples Therapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), in addition to NLP as a basis. Both forms of therapy are sound approaches to relationship therapy, but they differ in their theoretical foundations, objectives and techniques.
IBCT combines behavioural change with acceptance, while EFT focuses on strengthening emotional bonds. We do not view IBCT and EFT as competing therapies. Both methods simply offer a different perspective on improving relationships, each with their own ideas, techniques and effective ingredients.
Both forms of therapy are based on sound scientific theory and, when properly combined, work in a complementary manner.
In various sessions, we work on the following interventions:
- Recognising and stopping harmful interaction patterns.
- Becoming aware of intentions, behaviour and emotions (in yourself and your partner).
- Focus your energy on what can be changed. Let go of what cannot be changed.
- Creating secure communication and attachment.
- Getting to know yourself and your partner more deeply (and sometimes anew).
- Awareness of unconscious patterns and burdens originating from the family system.
What does a programme look like?
A programme begins with an intake. The intake consists of one session, partly together and partly individually. This results in a (provisional) treatment plan.
The entire process is always tailor-made. That is why it is impossible to determine in advance how many sessions will be needed. Generally, a process takes between 5 and 10 sessions, depending on its complexity.
Throughout the programme, personal guidance and practical assignments follow one another. So it's not just about talking; you will be actively working both individually and together.
The process requires commitment and a willingness to reflect on the part of both partners.
If necessary, additional support is available, such as systemic constellations or EMDR, for example.
None of this guarantees that the relationship will be ‘saved’. Sometimes you move forward stronger together. Sometimes you lovingly let each other go. But in all cases, it is an investment in well-being, awareness and healing. It provides support and guidance in difficult times, with the necessary light on the horizon.
